أُرغم الرئيس التونسي زين العابدين بن علي الجمعة على التنحي عن الحكم تحت ضغط مظاهرات المعارضة، وغادر البلاد التي حكمها لمدة 23 عاما، ورئيس الوزراء محمد الغنوشي يعلن توليه إدارة شؤون البلاد مؤقتا
أعلن رئيس الوزراء التونسي، محمد الغنوشي، توليه إدارة دفة الحكم مؤقتا بسبب تعذر أداء الرئيس زين العابدين بن علي لمهامه.
وقال الغنوشي في بيان على شاشة التلفزيون التونسي إنه إذا تعذر على الرئيس القيام بمهامه فإنه يوكل إدارة دفة الحكم الى رئيس الحكومة "ونظرا لذلك أتولى بداية من الآن ممارسة سلطات رئيس الجمهورية".
وطلب الغنوشي "من جميع الجهات التحلي بالروح الوطنية".
